The Best Way of Teaching

There lived a wise teacher, the teacher had several students, one of his students there were mute.

One day the teacher told his mute student to go down the mountain. The teacher said, Tomorrow, go down the mountain and spread the message of Truth which I have spread to everyone.”

The mute pupil felt inferior and immediately wrote on paper, “I’m sorry Master, how may I be able to spread Master’s teachings, when I am mute. Why are you not ask other disciple, who certainly  are able to expound the your teaching better?”

The teacher smiled and asked his student to feel the grain of wine given to him. This wine is sweet,” he wrote.

The teacher then gave another grain of wine. “This wine is so sour,” write the student.

And then the teacher did the same thing to a parrot. Although she was given the sweet and the sour ones, the parrot kept babbling, “Sour…Sour…”

The teacher explained to his disciples, “The truth is not to be memorized, nor just to learn, but the main thing is to put into practice in everyday life. Disability that our body have should not be an obstacle in developing our mind. Don’t let us be like a spoon full with honey, but never know the sweetness of the honey. Don’t let us be like parrots who are good at babbling, but do not understand what she babbled about. You are not able to speak well, but you are able to spread the Truth in other ways, such as writing a book, can’t you? And more importantly, it is your behavior that is in accordance with the Truth that will be the role models for others, is it not?

Itulah cara mengajar yang terbaik: teladankan Kebenaran dalam perilakumu, bukan cuma dalam omonganmu….

That’s the best way of teaching: implement Truth in your behavior, not just in your talk ….

Be Happy!
